Tour Down Under Fever Hits Adelaide as Lance lands

The first UCI Pro Tour event of the will get under way in Adelaide this weekend, the 12th edition of the Tour Down Under.

There is a lot of media interest in the event which will see Australia’s first World Road Race Champion, Cadel Evans start the race for the first time. A lot of the interest will be focused on Lance Armstrong who is continuing his comeback, now with his new team Team Radio Shack. Lance touched down on Thursday morning with a large media contingent waiting for him.

A crowd of several hundred is expected to join Lance for a ride on Saturday morning following a Tweet from Lance. This follows similar rides organised with a few hours notice in Glasgow and Dublin.

The race will then get under way with the team presentation and a criterium on Sunday afternoon.
